How to Prepare for Your Checkride
Reach out to schedule a checkride
Please don't submit a checkride form unless having reached out with a scheduled date beforehand.
Weight & Balance Details
For weight and balance purposes, I am 205 lbs. Please have weight and balance done prior to the start of the checkride.
Submit the appropriate checkride form
Refer to the checkride services page and select the appropriate form for the checkride that you have scheduled
Do I need a NavLog?
The ACS for certain checkrides allows for an "electronic equivalent" to a paper navigation log, provided the applicant can use it to compare planned fuel usage and times over waypoints.
-
DPE Discretion: DPEs may require a backup (paper or second device) and can request that electronic devices be turned off to test proficiency in traditional navigation.
-
Proficiency: If an applicant cannot use pilotage to identify checkpoints because they rely solely on a moving map, they may fail.
-
Documentation: Ensure all data, including weight and balance, is readily accessible on the device.
Forms of Payment
I accept cash, check, or Venmo.
Other Materials to Bring
Please come with a valid government issued ID, valid medical, valid student pilot licenses or applicable license, current FAR/AIM, and maintenance logs for the aircraft you plan to do your checkride in.
